- Men pray along Bengazi’s corniche in the city center followed by a protest. The prayer and protest filled the square and over-ran onto side streets. The majority of people left the protest early when rain and light hail poured down. Photographs by David Degner for the Wall Street Journal LIBYA
- At a transmission site outside of In Bengazi a small radio station has been set up and is broadcasting old patriotic revolution songs and running commentary under the name Radio Free Libya. They were able to scrape together the technology with it’s first broadcast on the 19th.
Friday prayers in Bengazi were held on the Corniche and were massive. At the end of the day I searched out the transmission site of Radio Free Libya, an opposition radio station set up just a few days after the uprising started. They play only old revolution songs so they must use reel to reel technology.
