Wired has an article about a new sensor that is Two-thousand times more sensitive than current models. With the mega-pixel race almost over the next frontier could be low light capability. When I can shoot at 12800 ISO and it looks like today’s 400 ISO that will be a true breakthrough, eliminating one of the perpetual trade-offs that photographers must make between quality, shutterspeed and aperture. Of course this is the third such article I’ve read in the past few years and we haven’t seen any dramatic change in our cameras, but it will arrive eventually.
