These are photos of an escape attempt, a release, a rebellion. In the end it will be photos of life alone and from afar.
Small groups of youth practice Parkour, a physical discipline where participants attempting to negotiate obstacles in the most efficient way possible. The practice recently became popular in Europe around 2004 and started spreading around the world. In 2008 the first group started in Cairo, without any formal training they were inspired by YouTube videos and the French feature film “District 13″. Now there are three groups that meet in the suburbs of Cairo.
It was definitely influenced by this cool essay by Denis Darzacq.
